Richard has been part of the management of Ventus since its formation in 2016, originally serving as the Chief Actuary and Chief Underwriting Officer before becoming President in 2019. Prior to Ventus, he served as the CFO and Chief Actuary for CapSpecialty and as the Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer for Torus Insurance Group.
Richard is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BSBA degree in Economics and Mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors for the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Trip Morano currently serves as Senior Vice President & Chief Underwriting Officer – E&S Property Underwriting. Prior to his role at Ventus, Trip served as Vice President & Head of Special Property for Colony Specialty, a division of Argo Group, where he managed a nationwide team of property underwriters, Inland Marine underwriters, and support staff. Prior to Colony Specialty, Trip joined Markel Corp. in May 2013 as Northeast Regional Property Manager, a position he previously held at Alterra Capital Holdings Limited before their merger. Trip began his E&S Property insurance career at Markel Corp. in Richmond, VA in 1993 and has held underwriting and management positions of increasing responsibility.
Trip holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from James Madison University.
Andrea has been part of the Ventus team since 2017, opening its first underwriting office in Atlanta, GA. She originally served as Vice President of Underwriting before becoming the Underwriting Manager in 2019. Prior to Ventus, she worked as a Senior Underwriter at Markel after its acquisition of Alterra Capital Holdings.
Andrea is a graduate from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, with a BBA in Risk Management and Insurance.
